Abstract
The emerging potential of renewable based electricity generation systems, diversity of storage and various loads are interconnected through the microgrid structure. Techno-economic study to design and develop a biomass based hybrid renewable energy systems for the microgrid application for a typical rural site is described in this paper. Optimization on size of the sources of hybrid system has been carried out for the collected potential of resources and load demands of the rural site. Analysis shows that though the grid connected hybrid system requires additional capital cost of 8.79%, the rate of energy is 3.61 per kWh. Sensitivity analysis are carried out for various factors such as tariff rates, capital cost of solar-PV, wind speed and the results are presented in this paper.
