  • Abstract
    A modified maximal ratio combining (MRC) detection scheme is provided in single-input multiple-output (SIMO) systems considering the spatially coloured noise at the receiver. The noise in different branches is spatially coloured in practical systems since each path uses an independent radio frequency chain. Furthermore, independent automatic gain control (AGC) for each branch is another factor that causes the spatially coloured noise. The modified MRC detection scheme taking spatially coloured noise in consideration is derived from theory and its validity is proved by the simulation results.
