Abstract
Petroleum resources are dwindling day by day and the atmospheric pollution created by gasoline vehicles force the researchers to develop new, eco-friendly, highly efficient vehicles. In this paper, the design of a new multimode parallel hybrid electric vehicle is considered. The design technique uses fuzzy logic for implementing various controlling actions. The vehicle is fitted with electric motors, generators and conventional internal combustion engines for higher power requirements and energy saving purpose. The simulation of the parallel hybrid electric vehicle is done using LabVIEW software. The simulation successfully shows the different configurations expected to be used by the automotive industry in the new phase of hybrid vehicles. LabVIEW simplifies the simulation by offering a robust Fuzzy Logic Controller Design Tool Kit and an interactive graphical user interface for easy controlling.
