Abstract :
In LTE-Advanced system with Carrier Aggregation (CA), the load of Component Carriers (CCs) varies from one to another. In such case, a dynamic adjusting carrier coverage-based load balancing Scheme (DACC-LBS) is proposed. It solves the load balancing problem based on carrier´s load, thus it overcomes the shortcomings of the traditional handover-based load balancing Scheme (TH-LBS) which is on the basis of cell´s total load. At the same time, through transmit power control, the coverage of each CC is adjusted dynamically to ensure the maximum coverage CC in less-loaded cell that have unoccupied resource for handover. Simulation results demonstrate that DACC-LBS can improve the system throughput significantly by 20%, and meanwhile greatly enhance the load balancing factor by 11% when compared with TH-LBS.
