Abstract
This paper deals with the modeling, computer simulation and steady-state analyses of buck and boost DC-DC power converters operating in the discontinuous-inductor current mode fed from a constrained DC source. The constrained DC source is obtained from an interior permanent magnet three-phase generator feeding a three-phase diode bridge rectifier. The voltage and current constraints on the DC source make the power converter performance dramatically different from similar power converters fed with constant voltage sources as shown by simulation, calculation and experimental results
