Abstract
This paper deals with the thrust characteristic and design parameters, such as teeth width and height, of a linear synchronous reluctance motor (LSynRM) using finite element analysis (FEA). And then, we select the optimum design parameter in terms of the thrust characteristic from the results. We used this optimum design parameter in manufacturing an LSynRM. Finally, the design of LSynRM is extensively verified by measurements and FEA.
