Abstract :
Opportunistic flooding [4] is an algorithm designed for wireless sensor network (WSN) intended to acquire significantly good performance on both flooding delay and energy consumption, considering both unreliable links and low-duty-cycle. On the other hand, end-to-end transfer schemes in WSNs can be categorized into acknowledgement based and non-acknowledgement based. Considering the reliable and unreliable implementations of opportunistic flooding algorithm, this paper investigates on the problems in the different end-to-end transmission schemes under low-duty-cycle networks to further optimize the performance of flooding in WSNs. Along with the simulation results and analysis, the characteristics and advisable environments of the reliable and unreliable opportunistic flooding have been provided.
