Abstract
The depolarization properties of the electromagnetic wave scattered from a chiral coated dielectric cylinder are extensively studied. Electric fields inside and outside the circular cylinder are expanded in terms of vector wave functions to obtain the scattered field. Cross- and co-polarized echo widths and one of the normalized Stokes parameters of the scattered wave are computed for the incident plane wave of TM and TE polarizations. It is seen from the numerical results that the chirality of the cylinder plays an important role in the control of radar cross section (RCS)
