Abstract
Epitraxial systems in which very large tunneling magnetoresistance (TMR) can be obtained using simple ferromagnetic electrodes such as Co, Fe, and CoFe together with epitaxial crystalline tunneling barriers was discussed in this paper. The TMRs calculated for these systems are much too high to be consistent with the Julliere model using any reasonable definition of electrode polarization.
