Abstract
The authors propose a simple algorithm to model the influence of bipole spacing, lead distance to the atrial wall and position on the longitudinal lead axis of a floating pair of atrial electrodes on the amplitude of the atrial signal. The model assumes that the amplitude is determined essentially by a geometric relation between the spacing of the electrodes P1, P2 (distance 2*b) and their position relative to a locus in the right atrium where the closest vicinity to the atrial wall is achieved (distance a). Calculated results obtained by this model fit very well experimental results reported previously
