Abstract
Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) are the most popular Human-Computer-Interfaces in today´s software system. GUIs become more and more popular because they can bring the flexibility to users, i.e. the user is not restricted to a fixed ordering of inputs. Exhaustive GUIs testing in terms of covering all potential user interface problems can improve software quality as well as increase confidence to ensure the GUI behaves correctly. However, systematically generating 3-, 4-, 5- and above multi-way test cases remains an open area of research [1]. This work provides a 3-way test case generation technique based on event-wise partitioning. The idea of this technique is very similar to the Category-Partition method, and therefore the complexity and number of the generated test cases can be controlled easily. Experiments in this paper show that the proposed technique is effective in 3-way interaction test case generation.
