Abstract :
The effects of Nb addition on the structural and magnetic properties of a melt-spun Fe-B/Nd2Fe14B based nanocomposite magnets are examined by X-ray diffraction and vibrating sample magnetometer measurements, respectively. It is found that Nb addition improves the glass forming ability of rapidly solidified Nd-Fe-B-Ti based alloys. Also, an enhancement on the magnetic properties of the magnets, after an optimal crystallization treatment, is obtained in spite of low cooling rates.
