Abstract
Presents a study on the finite word length (FWL) implementation of digital controller structures. The relevant FWL closed-loop stability related measures are investigated, and an algorithm is provided to search for the sparse controller realization that yields a computationally efficient structure with good FWL closed-loop stability performance. A numerical example is included to illustrate the proposed design procedure
