Abstract :
We give a design method of a stabilizing control law for linear systems with input constraints, input additive uncertainties and disturbances, referred to as the combined PLC/VSC state feedback. It combines two useful design techniques, PLC (piecewise-linear LQ control) and the VSC (variable structure control) design techniques. It inherits the advantages of both design techniques, while avoiding their disadvantages. The stability of the closed-loop system is analyzed by using Lyapunov nested level sets and stability theory. The simulation results of a simple pendulum are presented to illustrate the developed control scheme and its performance
