Abstract
Recently, high-contrast and high-resolution microwave imaging has been extensively studied in the detection of early breast cancer. This method is based on the contrast in electrical properties of healthy fatty breast tissues and malignant tissues. In this paper we design a new TEM double-ridged horn antenna for microwave imaging application. Proposed antenna is simulated with two commercially available packages, namely Ansoft HFSS and CST microwave studio. The antenna demonstrates low return loss over 3-11 GHz. The detection capabilities of the antenna for different size of tumor have been studied.
