Abstract
A novel compact micriostrip patch antenna with asymmetrical patch and defected ground plane is proposed in this article. Step impedance feed line is used to improve the impedance matching, which enhanced the performances of the antenna. The key geometry parameters have been investigated, and the optimized structure is obtained. Full wave electromagnetic simulation is used to analyze the structure. The resonant frequency of the proposed antenna is 2.45GHz, with the maximum gain of 2.4dBi and VSWR<;2. This antenna provides an omnidirectional radiation in the x-z plane, and has a compact dimension of 28mm*28mm*0.5mm.
