Abstract :
The feasibility of employing a graphene sheet as a high performance electromagnetic shielding layer is numerically investigated in this paper. To overcome the difficulties of using commercial EM solvers to simulate an infinitesimally thin carbon-sheet, an improved thin-layer FDTD model is developed and validated, and then applied to study the shielding properties of graphene. The model development and simulation results are detailed in the paper.
