Abstract :
Yb-M5 edge X-ray absorption spectroscopy, magnetization and heat capacity measurements on YbMn2Sb2 were performed. The magnetism of the sample was attributed to the Mn moments and Yb in this compound was likely to be in 2+ valence state.
