Abstract
A micromagnetic model of a current perpendicular to plane (CPP) spin valve which incorporated eddy current effects and spin transfer torque due to spin-polarized current was presented. The model utilized Co element that is discretized into unit cells. The eddy currents and spin transfer torque effects were modeled by solving Faraday´s and Poisson´s equations and Slonczewski spin torque. The results showed an appreciable drop in the remanence in the presence eddy currents but the coercivity remained the same. Thus the model predicted that eddy currents has significant effect on switching dynamics of spintronics devices and must be accounted for.
