  • Abstract
People who have been taught may not know how to learn. In classrooms lecturers are responsible for determining the content of the material they present. They impart this information to those who are there to learn. Additional to the fact that lecturers should act as facilitator in classrooms they also need to motivate the learner. In a more self-directed type of learning, such as e-learning, the learner has responsibility for his or her own learning. Overcoming the so-complicated process of learning by themselves they need also to be motivated. This paper depicts the experience of learning using a graphical based system modeled around the concept of VisuRule. It is based on an interactive interface implemented through a hierarchy of mutually exclusive options presented to the user based on choices made as the user progresses through the various decision levels. This strategy makes learning for students a more active process that is more meaningful and hence more effective. The paper will provide an overview of the benefits for combining the inference method with the use of graphical concept such as VisuRule.
