Abstract :
This paper discusses the GPU acceleration of FEKO, a versatile commercial CEM software package. Specifically, some of the challenges in accelerating complex software with many interdepen-dencies are presented. It is shown that despite the advances made in the field of GPGPU computing, and impressive speedups for parts of a program or simplified problems, there are a number of factors to consider before these techniques can be applied to a commercial product that is expected to be robust and, most importantly, to always give trustworthy results.
