  • Abstract
Based on a classical terrain following (TF) algorithm, the paper presents a new TF algorithm based on the fuzzy control theory, called the fuzzy adaptive angle algorithm, which consists of the self-containing low-attitude penetration system using digital electronic map technologies. The new algorithm not only avoids the problem of depression function and angle gaining, but also avoids the problem of fixing sledge in the classical sledge algorithm. It can simulates human thought and look for a more appropriate observing point as geometry reference to produce the angle control command according to the terrain relative height and gradient in the front of the flight. As the result of simulation, the fuzzy adaptive angle algorithm effectively accomplishes the task of TF and is simple to realize in practice
