Abstract
In the cigarette making wind power system the characteristic of the pipeline system changes continuously resulting from the variation of densities of cut tobacco. The cut tobacco stem and dust in the pipelines makes the operating wind pressure of the cigarette making machine fluctuate. It is necessary to suppress disturbance as soon as possible and to maintenance a stable wind pressure in order to improve the quality and productivity. However, the system is nonlinear and the characteristic of the pipeline varies continuously, which makes it unsuitable to use the convectional PID control approach or other model based controls. In this article, a self-organizing fuzzy controller with learning ability was employed to improve both the system performance and adaptability. This control strategy was implemented on a small wind power system and the experimental results were satisfactory
