Abstract
This paper presents a study of the probability of switching for one spin magnetic particle coming from the consideration that the reversal mechanism is given by coherent rotation of the individual atomic spins coupled through strong exchange interactions. A thin film element having in-plane anisotropy is considered. The probability of switching of the magnetic moment against the value of the applied field is computed and the dependence of the certainty of switching against the time window of the applied field is studied. Anisotropy, magnetization and damping parameter are also determined.
