  • Abstract
The special performance of COFDM-based system, e.g. DVB-T, in respect of multipath and interference lead to coverage areas increase as compared with traditional modulation-based system. Existing prediction models don´t take into account this factor. In this paper, the limits of suitability of the Long-Rice model for COFDM-based system in urban area. With this objective, the signal-level measurements of DVB-T broadband in Vladivostok, Russia were carried out. The observed signal levels were compared with the Lonley-Rice model. The comparison showed that the Lonley-Rice model reported good agreement for line-of-sight path, but for non-lineof-sight path calculated values were underestimated.
