Abstract
The demagnetizing energy being required in obtaining a demagnetizing factor for a single-domain particle of nonellipsoidal shape, with spontaneous magnetization in an arbitrary direction is investigated. The concept of demagnetizing factors plays an important role in theoretical interpretation of many ferromagnetic phenomena. It was found that demagnetizing energy per unit volume of a uniformly magnetized cube is exactly the same as for a uniformly magnetized sphere and independent on the magnetization direction. The body considered is that with two threefold rotation axes.
