  • Abstract
    This paper presents the outline of the major numerical techniques adopted for the modeling and design of substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) circuits, along with their applications to the design of SIW components and circuits. Particular emphasis is given to the Boundary Integral-Resonant Mode Expansion (BI-RME) method and to the automatic derivation of equivalent circuit models of SIW discontinuities, useful for the design and optimization of complex circuits.
