Abstract
In this paper, a two-stage approach is proposed for using computational electromagnetics the synthesis of antenna systems and other RF devices. engineering. First, stochastic optimization techniques are used in combination with approximate models. Second, line-search techniques are combined with full-wave modeling. The motivation, the general idea and available elements for a successful implementation of our approach are discussed.
