  • Abstract
    Animal fibres including cashmere and wool are highly valuable industrial products which are often adulterated during marketing and it influences the reputation of our nation. The identification of the cashmere and wool fibres is usually by distinguishing the surface morphological features, the edge detection is an important process to extract the features. The Sobel, Roberts, zero-crossings, Log, Prewitt and Canny methods of edge detection are compared through the experiments, we founded that Canny method is suitable for extracting the edge of the cashmere and wool fibres and the binary image with edge details is obtained.
