Abstract
A underwater imaging prototype system is built based on range gate mechanism. The no-reference image quality metric which is the sum of weight information capacity based on co-occurrence matrix of different direction is proposed in this paper in order to study the system performance according to different parameters. The tank trail is processed. In the first stage the metric is proved to be consistent with human visual. And then it is concluded that the metric will arise by improving the laser power and ICCD gain until to a top and then drop followed. At last the results also show that defering the gate time and prolonging the duration is helpful in terms of image quality as long as the CCD is not saturation.
