  • Abstract
    An improved autocorrelation algorithm aiming at digital wideband pulse detection is proposed in this paper. Absolute values of the signal amplitude are calculated for autocorrelation function. Then we compare autocorrelation result with threshold to determine the time of arrival (TOA) and pulse width. Measurement accuracies of the optimal thresholds under different signal-to-noise ratios (SNR) are discussed and the algorithm is implemented on FPGA. The simulations show the algorithm has good detection performance in real-time processing environment.
