Abstract
This paper first derives the node voltage equations of RLC networks over F(z) and presents two relevant results. On the basis of them and the reference (K.S. Lu and K. Lu, Int. J. Circuit Theory Appl., vol. 29, pp. 337-341, 2001), two structural conditions under which RLC networks are observable over F(z), i.e., structurally observable are further obtained: If an unhinged RLC network without sources has no all-capacitor cut-sets or all-inductor loops, then the network is observable over F(z) for any output vector Y in which each entry is a node voltage or a branch current of the network; the equivalent network of a physical unhinged RLC network with physical sources is observable over F(z) for any network variables of the equivalent network.
