  • Abstract
Comparison of a regular and synchronous buck topology for low voltage applications is given. Loss distribution and overall circuit efficiency are calculated for both topologies as a function of switching frequency and output current. It was found that the regular buck has always better efficiency for a certain combination of load current and switching frequency. Experimental results are shown to verify predictions
