Abstract
This paper describes a new feature for digital television broadcasting now being standardized. Non-real-time (NRT) services make use of large storage capacity in suitably-equipped receivers by sending content at (typically) slower than real-time rates. Consumers may interact with the receiver to choose content for download and later playback.
