Abstract :
Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) using inductive coupling is an essential method to power biomedical implants as it provides a hassle-free alternative to batteries and dangling wires. The Power Transfer Efficiency (PTE) of the inductively coupled link is a key quality metric using which the link is evaluated. In this paper, we address the various different methods to improve the PTE of inductively coupled links and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the different approaches in WPT links.
