Abstract
This paper deals with the generation of pink noise from white noise by using an analog transfer function with real singularities, whose slope of the frequency response magnitude approximates -3 dB/octave within a desired frequency band. Our goal is to define a set of optimal singularities of that analog transfer function so that the slope of its frequency response magnitude is as close as possible to -3 dB/octave. In this work, this task is divided in three parts. First, we define the optimal ratio between the singularities of that transfer function if its order can be made as high as necessary. In the sequel, we define the optimal singularities of transfer functions of orders 2 to 8 for the audio band as the band of interest Finally, we design two kinds of network which implement these last analog transfer functions.
