Abstract :
Summary form only given. This is, to our knowledge, the highest output power produced by a femtosecond Cr/sup 4+/:YAG laser to date. Shortening the cavity produced 125-fs duration pulses with 110 mW average output power in a single beam, at a repetition rate of 1 GHz. To produce a more compact and efficient system, we employ a diode-pumped Yb-doped fiber laser as the pump source.
