Abstract
A novel approach to designing wave filters in the log-domain is presented. Several wave two-port topologies are investigated, and a performance comparison is carried out. The design feasibility is illustrated on three examples both for HBT and MOSFET log-domain filters; IHP 0.25 μm SiGe BiCMOS process parameters and 0.35 μm BSIM3v3 CMOS model, respectively, are used to perform simulation. The design procedure has been fully incorporated into XFILTER design software.
