Abstract
Summary form only given. The requirements and design for the Celestri (Motorola) system optical intersatellite link (OISL) terminals are described at a top system level. To serve user needs effectively, Celestri will require use of satellite-to-satellite links. The Celestri system OISLs will have a high average data throughput with a transmission data rate of 7.5 Gbits/s to accommodate a peak user data rate of 4.5 Gbits/s with the associated coding and system overhead.
