Green consumer electronics: e-CLiPs, electronic control of intelligent power systems

This paper outlines the development of a domestic plug capable of wirelessly delivering electrical statistics about the connected device to a central control point. The ability to perform diagnostics as well as remotely switch devices on and off allows unused devices to be detected and shut down to conserve power.
