  • Abstract
Summary form only given. We have demonstrated high-power operation of a diode-pumped Nd:YAG laser at 1.32 /spl mu/m. Thermal lensing is strong in the 1.32-/spl mu/m operation, and it makes resonator design for high-brightness operation difficult. We have investigated experimentally and theoretically the correlation between the laser emission and thermal lensing. A laser-diode side-pumping configuration with a close-coupled diffusive reflector was used for 1.32-/spl mu/m laser oscillation.
