Abstract :
Summary form only given. We explore the possibility of wavelength tuning by incorporating VCSELs in fiber Fabry-Perot (FFP) cavities. VCSELs can support robust single longitudinal-mode operation due to wide longitudinal mode spacing of >40,000 GHz, which would allow continuous wavelength tuning without mode hopping by directly changing the cavity length.
