Abstract
A new wireless sensor network platform with magnetic and infrared sensors is designed for reliably detection and quickly reporting the intruding vehicle and staff targets. For the limited energy characteristics of the sensor nodes, energy-saving mechanisms in hardware design and software realization are introduced. Characterization of magnetic signals generated by a vehicle is analyzed both in time domain and frequency domain. Considering the limited processor and energy resources of Wireless Sensor Network, a simple and effective mechanism for the target intruding detection is designed and realized. The experimental results have validated the effectiveness of the design.
