Abstract :
Summary form only given. High-power beamless oscillator with phasing capability is described. An oscillator is integrated with the TEM horn antenna. Two separate exciters and phased in the common coaxial electrodynamic structure. The electrodynamic structure drives a mode converter and transformer integrated with TEM horn. This oscillator generates broadband HPM pulses with 150-550 MHz frequency spectrum, pulse length 8-10 ns and RF power level of 2.2 GW. Measured E · R (m) product was as high as 654 kV, with the E-field strength of 38 kV/m at 20 m. Maximal diameter of the developed oscillator is 162 mm, length is 695 mm with antenna. An oscillator can operate in single or repetitive pulse mode and has 3 modifications with different power supplies. Capacitor-based power supplies, FCGs and other external power sources can be used to power the oscillator.
