Abstract
Laser displacement sensors are highly-frequent used instrument for dynamic response measurement in wind tunnel tests. The fundamental performances of three types of laser sensors used in wind tunnel laboratory are introduced, and several factors for influencing precision are reviewed. For the cases that the object moves in both translational and torsional orientations, the modification expressions for the directly collected displacement signals are deduced. As one engineering example, the dynamic responses of Sutong Bridge aeroelastic model are modified with the former proposed formula. The research results indicate that the measurement error without displacement modification increase with the rotational angle. For Sutong Bridge model, the displacement deviations attain 6% if the modification is not carried out.
