Abstract :
Lightweight authentication protocols in the RFID system are necessary. One of the hottest issues in RFID system is to design low-cost and practical authentication protocol. Many researchers proposed some lightweight authentication protocols which only use lightweight operations, such as hash function, XOR etc. In this paper, we analyze a low-cost RFID authentication protocol proposed by Lee and find its flaws. Afterwards, we propose a revised protocol with an ID synchronization scheme and analyze its efficiency and security. The result indicates this revised protocol is suitable for low-cost RFID system and provides mutual authentication, untraceability, forward security and protects against replay attack and desynchronization attack.
