Abstract :
Power system fault recorder as an important secondary device is playing a more and more important role in the fault analysis and diagnosis area these days since the power system is becoming increasingly complicated. The data recorded by fault recorder have become basic and reference material for future calculation, analyzing and decision making. Virtual Instrument Technology is applied in this paper to develop a fault record and analysis system based on the platform of LabWindows/CVI and data acquisition card NI-PCI6143. Test show that the fault record and fault data analysis function can be completed accurately in this system, the sampling frequency can fulfill the demand of high-speeding record and the start criterion are more than the current fault recorder. The fault data analysis functions include spectrum analysis, STFT analysis, wavelet analysis and wavelet de-noising. It can basically meet the demand of the methods that were used to extract the characteristics of the fault.
