Abstract
Summary form only given. A compact differential absorption lidar (DIAL) for CH/sub 4/ using a wavelength of 1.67 /spl mu/m is developed. This system is useful for monitoring a flammable gas leak within a range of 500 m. We have already developed a compact OPO system and are improving the amplifier of the photodetector to extend its bandwidth.
