Abstract :
Summary form only given. We demonstrate that light propagating through tissue, within a time gate, retains its polarization to a different degree depending on the type of tissue. This observation provides a way to improve optical imaging in turbid media. The polarization-preserving photons belong to the group of early arriving image-carrying photons.
