Abstract
Summary form only given. We demonstrate broadband spectral coupling in a novel multiwavelength mode-locked semiconductor laser, which is capable of coherently coupling the spectral phases over a range of six times that of the normal active mode locking. The physical mechanism responsible for the broad range coupling is observed to be intracavity four wave mixing generated by the dynamic carrier heating and cooling effects within the diode gain element.
